From a Small Office in Kampala to a National Force for Professional Change
It began in 2014 when Dr. Sarah Namukasa, a qualified professional coach with a background in organisational psychology, returned to Uganda after six years of work in Nairobi and London. She was struck by how few accessible, affordable, and culturally relevant coaching services existed for Uganda's growing professional class.
Starting from a small rented office on Nakasero Road, she began offering one-on-one coaching sessions to a handful of managers and mid-career professionals. Word spread quickly. Within two years, Ascend had a waiting list, a growing team of associate coaches, and corporate clients that included banks, NGOs, and government agencies.
Today, Ascend Coaching & Consulting Uganda is a full-service professional development firm with a team of eight experienced coaches and consultants. We have served over 650 individuals and partnered with more than 40 corporate organisations across Uganda. Our work spans Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara, and Gulu — and increasingly through virtual coaching, across the region.
